The HMI Hackathon – Coding Today for the Health of Tomorrow is a statewide, in-person innovation competition bringing together undergraduate and graduate students from colleges and universities across Georgia. Over two full days, participants will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to design AI-driven solutions addressing real-world healthcare challenges. With guidance from academic and industry mentors, teams will develop, refine, and pitch their ideas, exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance patient outcomes, improve healthcare operations, and advance health equity. The event also offers valuable networking opportunities and the chance to compete for exciting prizes.

The hackathon will take place March 5–6, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at the KSU Center, Room 400. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided both days.

The competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in Georgia, across all disciplines. No prior experience is required, just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to collaborate. Winning teams will be selected by a panel of judges and awarded prizes, including a Meta Quest VR Headset, Sony Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones, and a 2TB Portable External Hard Drive.
